Job Description

  • Develop and grow the sales in N.A. by expanding  sales of SP’s products and customers breath and depth within the GM/Ford network connected to the battery propulsion engineering and purchasing.   This will be accomplished by creating new opportunities for protection needs inside the battery pack. Work with the Tier account sales teams and customers to secure new programs.
  • Provide a market growth strategy based on market research for the Battery Protection Market to the Global Sales Director and management for review and approval.  Strategy to include products needed as well as barriers and challenges for success.
  • Communicate customer strategic issues (e.g. changes to ‘Terms and Conditions’, significant changes in volume announcement of a new model and/or powertrain, opening of a new plant and/or plant closure, announcement of a partnership/alliance, product engineering responsibilities within the OE and Tier Ones, etc.) and appropriate customer news (e.g. bookings, etc.) to the BPM Business Manager and NA team.
  • Work with the BPM Business Manager to establish and execute targets for each new segment  on at least a yearly basis at minimum.
  • Provide timely communication with the BPM Business Manager and Sales Director about the ‘voice of the customer’
  • Work closely with New Business Development and BPM Business Manager to identify key tier account growth based on New Business Development award
  • Drive new product implementation and specification at the OE’s.  This may call upon the OE sales team for support.
  • Assist to develop the business plan and the 5-year strategic budget with the Tier and OE Buisness Manager and the SP Management Team.
  • Ensure all opportunities are captured and followed up in Sales Force.
  • Develop contacts at the platform engineering management level and mfg operations at the new customers and OE’s
  • Lead/Support customer reviews to the management team
  • Chair global cross functional customer team meetings
  • Develop the customer sales and business strategies required to achieve SP’s business objectives.
    • Achieve strategic plan annual revenue Achieve the BPM yearly and AOP Targets
    • Deliver profitable bookings to achieve 5% minimum p.a. growth greater than market
    • Maximize material recovery by balancing the overall business goals and objectives to ensure a minimum of 70% material recovery
    • Demonstrated skills and capability for customer relationship building and networking, as well as finding the synergies and presentation of a winning business case
    • Achieve profit enhancement of 25% minimum p.a.
    • Achieve or improve the pricing budget
    • Leader customer profitability improvement initiatives
  • B.S. degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or other related discipline

  • Minimum of 10 years sales experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in New Business Development/LV BEV at the OE or Tier One level or similar experience.
  • Required experience working with strategic planning, product positioning, competitive analysis and revenue improvement a strong track record of sales success in the LV BEV market.
  • Must be proactive, innovative and a self-starter with excellent communication skill and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to solve customer problems
  • Strong computer system skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
