We are looking for a talented visual designer to join us as we reimagine the future of Yahoo Sports. We are seeking a designer with experience working on high-level strategies to create engaging presentations for clients, prospective partners, and other Yahoo executives and businesses. This person shall be a designer but more importantly, they must be a gifted storyteller. While this designer will report to the visual design team, their main focus will be working alongside senior leadership on priority presentations and visual materials.

This designer will play a key role in enhancing the communication between our senior leaders and key audiences and partners. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop high-quality presentation decks that effectively convey complex information in a visually engaging manner. This position requires a unique blend of creativity, technical proficiency, and a keen understanding of strategic communication in the media landscape.

This person must be an expert at graphic design, narrative building, and Google Slides. This person must also be adept at independently and efficiently moving from high-level concepts to presentation-ready materials. Ideally, this designer is also able to adjust product mock-ups and create lightweight presentation animations, and assets for meetings, events, and/or other business settings. 




Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to understand the core messages and objectives of each presentation

  • Design and create presentation decks for a variety of audiences, including internal teams, board members, investors, and industry partners

  • Utilize Google Slides to produce clean and aesthetically pleasing layouts

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines and adjusting priorities as needed

  • Provide creative input and suggestions for improving the delivery of presentation content

  • Act as a designer but also a business partner for senior leadership as we develop our business strategy 



  • Translate complex information and transform it into clear, engaging visual stories




Requirements

  • Experience working in similar fields to digital publishing and/or sports media

  • 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design specifically related to presentation design

  • Expertise in Google Slides

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite

  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of visual design and powerful deck work

  • Proven track record of delivering results

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate design concepts and solutions with designers, leaders, and stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • A passion for sports and a deep understanding of the sports media landscape is a plus

  • Being a great human being who loves to support others (and enjoys being part of a supportive design team)

Details

  • Will work directly with the Yahoo Sports executive team

  • While generally Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week - the availability to move fast and, as business dictates, to hit deadlines is required

  • East Coast hours preferred

  • Remote work

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,750.00 - $251,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
