Job Description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Clerk – Operational Accounting is to perform all gaming, non-gaming, and comp audit procedures to ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and The Venetian Resort's departmental standard operating procedure requirements. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete the daily audits (as assigned) in a timely manner.
  • Arrange timelines to complete tasks, department assignments, and/or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Assess, evaluate, and review data to organize work in accordance with company guidelines.
  • During execution of daily duties, ensure compliance to the established minimum control standards as established by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely, accurate completion of all assigned Blackline tasks or assignments.
  • Complete daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual audits in a timely manner, so that identified issues are immediately resolved with the appropriate gaming and non-gaming departments.
  • Evaluate information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function.
  • Resolve and research guest disputes while maintaining a positive guest experience.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of audit experience or equivalent.
  • Exhibits outstanding leadership, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • High ethical standards, level of commitment and ability to cope with complexity and change.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Gaming and non-gaming audits.
    • Statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in hastening resolution, assessing course of action, and implementing or taking action based upon findings.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 25 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
