Job Description:

The Corporate FP&A Manager will be a crucial member supporting the Corporate Finance team. You will be tasked with connecting corporate strategy, financial planning, and analytics to guide the overall health and trajectory of Yahoo. This role will work on high-visibility, strategic projects and coordinate with stakeholders across Yahoo. You will work closely with the SVP of Finance, a Sr Director in Finance, and other senior leaders across the company, including exposure to the CFO. The right candidate will be analytical, detail oriented, and a professional, polished communicator. She/He should be able to quickly analyze financial statements to provide valuable insights, and communicate recommendations to leadership (while understanding the bigger picture).

Role & Responsibilities

This role will report directly to a Sr. Director in Corporate FP&A and serve as a right hand person aligning on specific Management reporting and presentations that will ultimately be reported up to the Executive Yahoo Leadership team.  The following work streams, processes, and presentations with Yahoo Consolidated financials will be owned by this Financial Manager.

  • Analyzes financials and KPIs critically to identify business trends and effectively communicates areas of risk or opportunity

  • Condense complex KPI and financial data into comprehensive summaries tailored to leadership and external parties highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations

  • Interpret and summarize multiple data points, both internal and external, to support a clear narrative of business performance and goals

  • Assist Sr Director to create financial models and provide financial analysis for key strategic projects, ultimately leading to recommendations that will improve financial performance

  • Assist in preparations required for lender deliverables and lender calls 

  • Partnering with technical accounting and external reporting teams on carve out financials to bridge the gaps between GAAP and Management financials 

  • Provide insights on financial performance relative to industry benchmarks, competitor analysis, and historical trends 

  • Support Sr Director/Strategy/Corp Dev and CFO in evaluating M&A strategic opportunities

  • Support Ad Hoc requests coming from finance leaders

Qualifications 

  • 4-7 years of progressive career related experience in Sell-Side Equity Research, Investor Relations, Banking, Consulting, Private Equity,  Corporate FP&A, or Startup Finance 

  • BA/BS degree (MBA is a plus) in Finance, Economics, or Business

  • Experience interacting with senior business leaders and managing planning processes 

  • Experience coordinating across teams

  • Strong relationship building, professional communication, and presentation skills

  • Superior business and analytical skills

  • Advanced Excel skills and Google Suites

  • An ability to take very difficult concepts and tell a simple compelling story

  • Comfortable (and thrive) in ambiguous situations with little data or direction

  • Experience creating complex financial models working with large data sets

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, fun, demanding environment 

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership over increasingly larger project

  • High energy level with the ability to adapt and be flexible in day to day operations

  • Should reside in Northeast US (NYC, DC area, etc); role is remote

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
