JOB SUMMARY
The Direct Sales Manager is responsible for the performance of the Direct Sales Vacation Counselors.  The Manager will manage daily sales activities and objectives.  In addition, the Manager will train and develop agents to exceed their sales goals.  The Manager is responsible for a team of Direct Sales Vacation Counselors that properly handle inbound/outbound telephone calls and emails from various marketing partners, customers, owners and members with the intention of selling collection points.  The Manager is expected to provide outstanding customer service in alignment with our quality assurance standards.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Leads Sales team to meet or exceed weekly, monthly & annual company sales goals.
  • Consistently works with agents to improve their sales skills, sales production numbers and knowledge of Diamond Resorts International® products and services.
  • Takes over calls from agents when appropriate to secure sales for agent, team, department, and company.
  • Builds and maintains rapport and good working relationships with support staff, agents, peers and internal partners.
  • Collaborates with the Recruiting department to attract top sales talent.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team and Contracts staff to ensure the team’s deals come back by month end deadline.
  • Ensures all agent and customer questions are answered in a professional, informative, diplomatic and correct manner.
  • Follows up to ensure sales paperwork is returned within a specific period of time.
  • Participates in ongoing sales training and team collaboration efforts.
  • Provides superior customer service in accordance with the Company DRIven to Excellence standards.
  • Consistently practices We Love to Say Yes® and maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with fellow team members, management, owners, members and prospects.
  • Operates general office machinery (i.e., computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
  • Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned. 
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum five (5) years of experience in the vacation ownership sales field required.
  • A minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in the vacation ownership sales field required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides immediate supervision to direct reports.  Oversee and controls the work performance of others in a close working relationship, often in the same room or close proximity.  A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks similar to those performed by direct reports.  May participate in the interview, selection and training processes, as assigned.  May be responsible for assigning work to direct reports, reviewing results in accordance to policies and procedures, and providing recommendations to management.
 
LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid real estate license or timeshare agent license, if required by state.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices.  Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.
