This position is responsible for leading value generation, sourcing, and profitability improvement initiatives to optimize indirect and corporate spend. Close interaction and coordination with internal partners and external suppliers is required.  Success will be measured on spend addressed, savings achieved, and working capital impact. The central challenge of the position is to capture value from indirect spend categories while meeting key business objectives such as service, quality, and timing.  This role will oversee IT Procurement and IT Purchasing globally.  The position is based in Northville, Michigan and reports directly to the Executive Director, Indirect Purchasing of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align on the project goals, targets and deliverables.
    • Conduct supplier negotiations, launch global RFPs, contract redlining and review
    • Identify existing process gaps and audit risks, recommend enhancements to leadership and implement improvements.
    • Possess a strong industry knowledge, ability to identify a competitive edge by leveraging spend and establishing the right terms and conditions for tenneco.
    • Develop global/regional contracts that are commercially sound, provide optimum protection of company assets and meet IT requirements.
    • Effectively manage renewal schedules and workload planning to achieve optimum results
    • Manage and develop a team of 5-7 employees

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • 15+ years of IT Procurement and Sourcing experience
  • 5+ Years leading a team

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field

Skills

  • Experience managing IT spend categories using multi-step strategic sourcing processes,
  • Track record of managing change through influence; capable of driving major commercial decisions across a diverse set of internal stakeholders. 
  • Strong negotiation skills; expert understanding of terms, conditions, and contracting techniques for managing risk.
  • Experience working with Procure to Pay processes
  • IT/Technology Industry experience
  • Comfortable working with all levels of Management
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
