GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities may include coordinating with the maintenance department to assist in training and troubleshooting PLC’s and other electronic equipment, assisting with the start-up of new production equipment, overseeing/developing PLC related software, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The following pages describe the skills and requirements needed for the position of the Electrical Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working on a wide variety of equipment and systems including AC & DC motor controls, PLC’s, industrial computers, robotics, digital, and analog systems.
•  Provide training for electricians covering our production equipment.
• Supports the efforts of plant scrap reduction teams.
• Supports production equipment and facility improvements including capital initiatives.
• Lead the electronic technicians in modifying the electrical prototypes in order to correct operational deviations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all of the plant electrical and electronic systems.
• Apply electrical theory or related knowledge in testing and modifying operational or developmental electrical control circuitry of equipment within the facility.
• Maintains and updates all the facility’s utility and electrical documentation.
• Understand the lockout tag out procedure when doing any electrical work on the production machines.
• Ensures healthy and safe work conditions are maintained at all times on the plant floor.
• Understand basic electrical and electronic theory including AC/DC theory, PLC ladder logic, motor controls, solid state, and semi-conductor circuit theory and lasers.
• Must use knowledge of general test equipment application including multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic probes as wells as basic knowledge of the National Electric Code and how it applies to industrial installations.

EDUCATION:

• Associate’s/Technical degree in related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2 years Industrial Maintenance/Electrical experience or Plant Engineering/Engineering capacity.
