Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Head of Staging/Rigging is to manage the theater staging/rigging discipline for 3 theatre venues to include scenery, soft goods and automations.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety–related position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all rigging systems, stage deck, automations systems and equipment are inspected and maintained properly for proper use and specific attention to all load bearing elements and systems.
- Monitor production and event material / labor costs for settlements.
- Coordinate with the incoming production teams, Base Entertainment and Theater Manager for the “advancement” of shows, events and productions.
- Manage assigned budgets and resources.
- Coordinate with production and other departments onstage as needed to run the performances and rehearsals.
- Responsible for organizing and overseeing all on-stage and backstage production elements for three theaters.
- Prepare monthly reports (or as directed), inventory, consumable and maintenance checklists.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High school diploma.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 8 years of experience theater staging as a fly-man/rigger/carpenter.
- 5 years of experience on large-scale productions.
- Demonstrated experience in shows, road shows and events.
- Demonstrated experience in repairing, maintaining and operating and maintaining counterweight fly systems, winches, stage cranes, line-sets, stage elevators.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of OSHA.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software for Windows and AutoCAD recommended.
- Working knowledge of welding, (MIG, TIG), steel construction recommended.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
