Arconic is currently in search of Machinist to join our Tennessee Operations in Alcoa, TN.

Primary Responsibilities include but not limited: 

•         Read, understand, and use blueprints to machine parts and assemble/disassemble machine components, etc.  

•         Inspect, troubleshoot, assemble/disassemble and repair per specification, mechanical equipment and its components for the purpose of restoring equipment to operating condition or for replacement, etc.     

•         Precisely measure parts using micrometers and similar measuring tools. 

•         Operate machining centers such as lathes, mills, horizontal and vertical boring machines, drills, grinders, presses, and CNC equipment, etc.  

•         Have an understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems to facilitate the repair of valves, cylinders and pumps, etc.  

•         Operate oxy/acetylene equipment such as torches and heaters 

•         Operate cranes such as overhead, jib, radio controlled and pendant, etc.  

•         Operate mobile equipment such as fork truck and flat beds, etc. 

•         Adjusts, repairs, maintains and lubricates machining equipment 

•         Computer skills to order parts and input time, etc.  

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1 year experience or a technical degree from an accredited instituition 
  • Successful candidate must pass two-part Arconic Machinist test

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years journey- level Machinist experience in manufacturing work environment. 
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and applications. 
  • Associates or bacelor's degree in an applicable field. 
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, budgets and cost control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods. 
  • Understanding of the customer/supplier relationship and ability to build consensus is vital. 
  • Flexible, cooperative team member. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and effective problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to interface effectively with technology.
