Job Description

As Manager, Sustainability Data & Reporting, you will be a key member of the corporate team that formulates, refines, and executes Arconic’s sustainability strategy -- building the associated infrastructure and solutions, and provides recommendations to leadership to improve sustainability initiatives. 

  • Support integration of ESG targets into Arconic’s business and support functions to ensure continuous progress toward our 2030 targets, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Priorities include:
    • Support Arconic’s ability to identify and manage environmental, human rights and ethics topics within our supply chain via a robust supply chain transparency and traceability program.
    • Demonstrate continuous improvement in ESG evaluation frameworks (e.g., CDP, EcoVadis, etc.). Identify and prepare for new ratings and ranking programs.
    • Developing ESG processes and procedures, such as standard ESG data procedures and operating processes, with an emphasis on improvements in quality and coverage over time.
  • Develop resources and training materials on ESG risks/opportunities for various levels of Arconic professionals.

Support ESG disclosure alignment and improvement (data, information sharing, collection, verification across various Arconic functions), e.g., environmental, sustainability disclosure standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sustainability Data Coordination and Assurance: Gather data from global sites and key third-party supply chain partners. Conduct analysis and produce internal/external reports. Support and maintain Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) reporting structure following the respective ESG reporting frameworks (eg. GRI, SASB). Perform verification and quality assurance of data to ensure accuracy. Support technical development of product-specific recycled content and carbon footprint modeling based on customer insights and dialogue.
  • Manage Sustainability Data Management platforms: Lead setup and ongoing use and maintenance of the global Sustainability Management and Reporting platform. Lead data systems integration to incorporate various company and external data sources into the SMR platform. Update GHG emissions baseline and Basis of Reporting as needed.
  • Data Analysis and Tracking: Analyze sustainability data. Develop insights to inform energy efficiency, energy procurement, regulatory and legislative advocacy, and other sustainability initiatives to help achieve corporate sustainability goals. Provide routine updates with insight and analytics to Arconic’s cross-functional working groups about emerging and evolving issues and protocols – including recycling and circular economy, value chain decarbonization and carbon accounting, material traceability and transparency, and human rights. Benchmark and prepare timely reports on competitor, customer, market, and industry ESG activities, disclosures, and trends. Model decarbonization impacts of projects and initiatives.
  • Communication, Training and Collaboration: Work with the corporate Sustainability team and our operations to accurately communicate energy program initiatives and achievements to internal and external partners. Assist in training and education of data collection concepts and practices and the use of reporting platforms. Engage with sourcing and procurement teams to track and report environmental impact data. Support corporate communications and marketing functions with current, relevant, and engaging materials, including presentations and website content. Identify events, potential recognition and thought-leadership opportunities for Arconic. 
  • Coordinating Customer Responses: Coordinate responses to customers for ESG-related data and information (e.g., carbon footprint, energy, recycled material, supply chain) – including dialogue with customers as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data analysis role.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with ESG reporting disclosure frameworks (i.e., CDP, SASB, GRI, TCFD).
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of Hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as a U.S> citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e., ‘Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or metals industry.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with sustainability certifications, renewable energy, climate risk, building systems, and benchmarking tools.
  • Experience with external analytical tools and, information systems (e.g., investor, environmental, marketing).
  • Working knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, CBAM, GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, GRI, PCAF, TCFD, and others preferred. 
  • Ability to research private and public domains.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities, complete high-quality work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The individual will need to manage strict and competing deadlines that are dictated by internal and external stakeholders.
