Job Description

Position Summary

 This position will provide engineering support to the manufacturing group and continuous improvement initiatives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide active role in problem solving efforts on key projects to improve quality, reduce cost and/or improve cycle time and productivity.
  • Identify and address safety, efficiency, and quality improvement opportunities in conjunction with manufacturing personnel.
  • Modify and manage existing equipment and processes to meet customer requirements, product and production requirements.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology in continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to generate ad hoc reports.
  • Support manufacturing lines to reduce scrap and improve efficiency to meet plant goals.
  • Comply with requirements and assist in maintenance of the necessary quality standards (IATF16949/ISO14001).
  • Ensure a safe work environment exists for all employees.
  • Understand and follow all EHS policies.
  • Stop work activities that create EHS hazards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Engineering diploma or degree with min 3 years of engineering related experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing familiarity preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills
  • Good understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes (tube forming, welding, bending, assembling)
