About Internship Program

This internship will run from from July 1, 2024, to August 30, 2024, for a consecutive 9 weeks on full time basis.

Yahoo will be prioritizing applicants who have a current right to work in Taiwan, and this internship position is not available for Yahoo's visa sponsorship. Participants must be located in Taiwan throughout the duration of the program.

About You 

Yahoo is looking for a Data Product Manager Intern to look after data products, ranging from e-commerce, media as well as advertising business. Consolidating all three businesses mentioned above have become a key focus and it will soon revolutionize the whole Yahoo Ecosystem in Taiwan as well.  If you are passionate about data and believe in the future of internet business, this is the position for you!  

You will be responsible for developing and delivering data product strategies that combine deep understanding of machine learning/AI technologies, data product usage & user behaviors, and competitive landscape.  You will work closely with business, design and engineering teams to create products that can vastly enhance the shopping/media/advertising experience on different devices (mobile web, app and desktop). You will need to possess a strong business sense, product development experience, strong leadership and communication skills in order to successfully champion the cause of the mobile consumer and Yahoo.    

This position requires an individual who can work closely with and influence cross-functional teams such as sales, product, marketing, engineering, and user experience design as well as analysts.  This position may also require some interactions with counterparts located overseas through conference calls.

The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of complex data while also having a solid understanding of Internet business, and the competitive landscape.

Your Day

  • Define product strategies and manage product roadmap, setting of and continuously managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders 

  • Co-work with (directly and/or by influence) world-class product managers, engineers, QA, analysts, UX designers and other partner stakeholders - providing guidance and direction to achieve the product vision for customer centric product launches and improvements in a global fashion.

  • Building positive relationships and trust through strong cross-team interactions, on-time delivery, high quality product and perceptive thinking

  • Driving the overall product vision, strategy, and requirements that will fuel user growth and product evolutions.

  • Continuously deliver advances in the product by defining the roadmap, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive offerings and how they impact consumer choices and preferences, and how they should influence the product

  • Define product success metrics and analyzing product performance by driving the product agenda and planning with Engineering, Design, Analysts and other cross-functional teams to deliver!

  • Define and analyze metrics that inform how we measure the improvements we're delivering

  • Build and effectively communicate data stories to executives and key stakeholders via presentations, written summaries, and data visualizations

  • Assist with setting up and analyzing results of product initiatives

You Must Have

  • BA/BS in a technical discipline. Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, and experience in digital analytics preferred

  • Project or Product experience in AI/Machine Learning related areas is a plus 

  • Ability to prioritize among competing opportunities, balancing consumer needs with business and product priorities, and the ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind product decisions

  • Strong business sense and logic, sensitive to current and upcoming industry and business trends with passions in the Internet, e-commerce and advertisement.

  • Team player in driving growth results combined with a positive attitude and high emotional intelligence.

  • Killer consumer instincts and data sensibilities.

  • Demonstrated use of analytics, metrics, and benchmarking to drive decisions.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to craft and present data driven analyses and insights to articulate performance and opportunities to key stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable with spreadsheets, data query and reporting tools

  • Innovative and strong in problem solving, flexible to adjust to change quickly

  • Strong work ethic and strong core values (honesty, integrity, creativity, etc).

  • Track record of proactively establishing and following through on commitments.

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and team-oriented leader
