Job Description

Support Center - Irving

The Sales and Merchandise Programs Specialist will be responsible for first and third-party gift cards at Michaels stores and helium balloon program management. This role will be responsible for all aspects of the gift card business, from weekly vendor calls, planograms, budgeting, and tracking invoices to selecting card designs. They will collaborate with our external gift card partners to select promotions and marketing opportunities throughout the year. The Sales and Merchandise Programs Specialist will also be responsible for continuing to grow and expand the helium balloon program.

Major Activities

Gift Cards:

  • Manage both first and third-party gift cards at Michaels stores and partner retailers
  • Select promotions and marketing opportunities for third-party retailers
  • Select third-party gift cards to be sold in Michaels stores
  • Partner across internal departments for financial approvals, visual and fixturing options, and store operations issues
  • Responsible for tracking invoices and budgets, weekly vendor calls, planograms, and updating card designs and UPC’s

Helium Balloons:

  • Partner with our balloon/helium vendor for assortment updates, weekly calls, and supply questions
  • Analyze and identify white space in the assortment and gaps in the helium program to maximize sales and margin
  • Collaborate with visual and planogram teams to update in-store experiences and balloon bar/book information
  • Work with operations to help resolve any store tickets regarding UPCs, supplies, or issues with scanning items
  • Set up new SKUs and maintain existing SKUs, collect images for the Ecomm team, and enter buying into the system.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

  • 3+ years of Marketing, Merchandise, or promotions program management
  • Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in utilizing Excel or other data analysis tools to extract insights and make data-driven decisions
  • Collaboration skills to partner with cross-functional teams
  • Flexible, resilient, and comfortable working in a constantly changing environment
  • Detailed-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Preferred Education

  • Prior gift card or helium ballon program management experience
