JOB OPPORTUNITY:  Service Center Manager

The Service Center Manager will be responsible for leading safe, efficient, and profitable operations at the service center.  This role will be responsible for the daily oversight of the Office and Shop, including Sales support (quotes), Logistics (Purchasing/Shipping/Receiving), support Field Service team, and interact directly with customers.  A primary objective will be to improve the performance of the center, including assessing operations and identifying gaps to address. This is a hands-on role, working together with the existing team and supporting Celeros FT on our growth plan for the Service Center.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support on achieving company financial and operational commitments (Revenue, Margin, On time performance, Productivity, lead-time).
  • Managing day-to-day office and shop/production floor.
  • Respond to questions and requests from customers.
  • Create and approve quotations.
  • Lead and own safe work practices, shop cleanliness, quality compliance, and contractual compliance.
  • Coordinating and supervising the daily activities of business support, technical support, or production.
  • Support Field Service technicians with material, tooling, job tickets, SAP related transactions, etc.
  • Monitor and manage to KPIs.
  • Manage and report on financial performance.
  • Oversee inventory processes.
  • Coach and mentor team.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • The ability to:
    • Coach and mentor staff.
    • Organize and prioritize workload.
    • Read and interpret drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems (SAP).
  • Excellent interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or repair facilities working with valves.
  • 3+ years of experience in management roles, including strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, strongly preferred, or equivalent education.
  • Experience with the repair of gate valves (control valves is a plus), with a strong understanding of machining, welding, assembly and testing.
  • Experience with and technical knowledge of API 6D Valves.
