Support Center - Irving

As the Site Merchandising Manager for MakerPlace, this role will partner to scale MakerPlace from its nascency to a fully operating and optimized business unit. Because MakerPlace is still a startup, this role will be dynamic and evolve as the business unit matures & evolves. As such, a self-starter with comfort in ambiguity will thrive.

Major Activities

  • Develop the online merchandising strategies for the homepage, campaigns, and curated landing pages
  • Direct site merchandising responsibility for campaigns and trends
  • Build & grow a team of site merchandisers and merchandising operations
  • Execute merchandising strategies for navigation, on-site search, assortment layout, and site enhancements
  • Measure, analyze, and report how customers interact with the site across devices to drive strategic, actionable recommendations for conversion
  • Collaborate with Growth team to identify gaps in the product assortment and win new potential sellers
  • Identify trend opportunities with Content utilizing search data, top categories, etc.
  • Partner with the Content Team in linking strategies, taxonomy, attribution, and cross-site opportunities to ensure consistent customer experience throughout the site
  • Support Product team in implementing SEO recommendations

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Marketing, Communication, or related field required
  • Minimum 6+ years experience in site merchandising, ecommerce, business development, visual merchandising, or equivalent
  • People manager experience preferred
  • Experience in consumer-focused eCommerce environment, preferably in lifestyle industry (fashion, home, beauty)
  • Strong customer obsession focused on building the right site experience for our customer
  • Experience using reporting tools (SQL, Looker, etc)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent Google Suite applications
  • Strong understanding of trends and cultural zeitgeist
  • Collaborative, inter-personal, self-starter with a “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Experience working in a tech environment preferred, but not required
