Position Summary:

The category planner will report to the Leader, Category Planning to develop short-term and long-term business strategies for assigned business lines.

They will focus on building strong category business plans by working with all internal stakeholders to improve and evolve functionality and offerings by responding to post-mortem results, customer feedback, host feedback, and field feedback.

They will be expert project managers ensuring well thought out cross functional plans are developed, and all stakeholders are meeting their deliverables and timelines.

They will be curious, comfortable with change, and comfortable pushing partners to evolve and adapt.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Develop Strategic Business Plans for assigned host business line, working with Key stakeholders across the org in the development and execution of the plan
  • Work with Field Sales and Operations Field team to improve execution of business plan across all areas, improving communication and execution
  • Work with Sales enablement to provide better tools to the field to execute on the plans as developed
  • Work with Merchandising, Marketing, Photography, and Analytics partners to develop the tactical agenda
  • UI/UX site improvement stakeholder
  • Competitive Pricing and Intel
  • Key partner in driving LT Ready seasonal readiness timelines for assigned category

The Skills You’ll Bring:

Education: Four year degree in marketing or related business degree. MBA a plus.

Experience: 5+ years of business strategy or marketing. Experience in business consulting work or internal corporate strategy departments is preferred.  

  • Experience working with Yearbooks and associated products highly preferred.
  • The ability to analyze data and think creatively in order to develop sound recommendations and solutions to achieve strategic business goals
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
  • Adept in anticipating, assessing and translating customer needs into actionable tactics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Experience in development and delivery of presentations to a variety of internal audiences: peers, leadership and field offices
  • Experience in demand generation execution and digital campaign design
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic strategy concepts (SWOT, competitive analysis, brand positioning etc) used in the development of marketing plans
  • Experience with financial budgeting, tracking and reporting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
