We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager of Product Design for our Platforms organization. This team is responsible for the most critical horizontal features across all of Yahoo (which include identity, payments, privacy, CMS and commerce). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving innovative and user-centric design solutions. The successful candidate will lead a team of talented product designers to build and enhance our Platform's products to meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a group of product designers on the Platform team to develop innovative and user-centric news experiences across multiple platforms

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and data scientists to develop and execute the search product roadmap

  • Mentor and manage a team of product designers, providing them with direction, feedback, and guidance

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence in design

  • Work with user research and to gain insights into user behavior and inform design decisions

  • Monitor design trends and emerging technologies to ensure our search product remains competitive

  • Work with stakeholders to create compelling presentations and design proposals that effectively communicate design concepts and solutions

  • Ensure that all design work is delivered on time, to a high standard, and within budget

Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in product design

  • Proven track record of leading and managing product design teams

  • Expertise in user-centered design, design thinking, and design process methodologies

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts to stakeholders and senior management

  • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven design decisions

  • A passion for innovation and a desire to push the boundaries of news design

  • A strong portfolio of design work that demonstrates your design skills, problem-solving ability, and understanding of user needs

The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 - $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
