Job Description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Technician - Equipment is to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used in the department and ensure to meet operational and safety regulations and building codes.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety–related position.              

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assess, evaluate, and review technical operation for the purposes of organizing the repair or troubleshooting of potential repair, and/or providing direction on work, tasks, or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Routinely test parts and systems to ensure they work properly, use computerized diagnostic equipment to spot mechanical problems (when applicable), and follow checklists to examine all electrical critical components. 
  • Arrange timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Possess skills to hasten resolution, assess course of action, and implement or take action based upon findings.
  • Render advice, and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed, or reviewed.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program for the department.
  • Maintains a current MSDS book.
  • Assist Housekeeping department wherever needed to promote the safety and well-being of external and internal guests and to protect the facility as directed by supervisor.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Training to repair the following equipment is a minimal requirement: electrical cart, ride on scrubber/sweeper, pressure washer, tug carts, vacuums, extraction machines, marble polishers and blowers.
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures for high and low voltage.
  • Working knowledge using hand tools, power tools, test lamps, amp meters, voltmeters, and other testing device equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 75 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
