Twin County Regional Healthcare


Performs Radiology and CT studies to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from infants to geriatric. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all JCAHO, federal, and state laws.


Minimum Education High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Is registered or eligible for registry by the ARRT in Radiography. Is registered or eligible for registry by the ARRT in CTBLS required.

Required Skills Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department. Ability to motivate personnel, problem-solve effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital departments.


Must have excellent customer relations skills. Able to safely operate all Radiographic and CT equipment. Provides patient education. Assists in maintaining records and reports. Takes call as scheduled. Interacts professionally with patients, patient’s family, physicians, physician’s offices, and other departments throughout the hospital to ensure the appropriate and highest quality of patient care. Maintains Continuing Education credits as required by the ARRT. Reports to work on time as scheduled. Participates in Joint Commission preparation and compliance. Knows and follows Environment of Care standards. Knows and follows TCRH Policy and Procedure. Demonstrates good radiation safety practices. Is able to perform all routine CT, radiographic, fluoroscopic, Special Procedures, and OR procedures for all age groups including: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Is familiar with the proper procedure for screening patients for contrast risks, injecting contrast, and contrast reactions. Starts INT’s using proper technique. Participates in Performance Improvement activities. Is familiar with the RIS, Teleradiology, Teleneurology, AW Workstation, and PACS systems. Monitors departmental activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency of procedures. Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient. Is familiar with and follows HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality. Administers Oral and IV contrast under the direction and supervision of a Radiologist. Work involves potential exposure to ionizing radiation. Work requires physical ability such as walking, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting heavy objects/patients (patients 300+ pounds), stooping and climbing stairs. Walking intermittently through halls of hospital and outside. Involves mental activity and problem-solving, to include the ability to implement solutions. May be exposed to injury by irrational or disturbed patients, patients with communicable diseases, and/or potentially dangerous equipment. Risk of exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials. Exposure to blood, body fluid and hazardous wastes is moderate to frequent and must carry out universal precautions according to hospital policy. Bending required frequently, 45-90 degree angles, to check patients, to operate machinery. Speech, hearing, reading, writing and visual acuity necessary in order to perform job requirements.
