Summary:

The Assistant Director of Radiology is responsible overseeing the effective management of assigned areas and ensures the competence of a workforce that consistently meets regulatory requirements and strives to exceed safety, efficiency, and service standards. 

Reports to: Director, Radiology

Essential Functions:

For the purpose of this job description, the term Radiology includes CT, US, Diagnostic, NM and Mammography. 

Supervises all phases of Radiology to ensure accurate and precise diagnostic imaging.

Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.

Responsible for assisting with scheduling all Radiology personnel to assure adequate staffing.

Assists Director of Imaging Services in the direct supervision of Radiology Staff.

Provide Director of Imaging Services with intuitive appraisal of staff to aid in employee performance process.

Effectively communicates all issues to the Director of Imaging Services

Becomes familiar with all sophisticated Imaging equipment and its operation.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Associates Degree required
Bachelor's Degree preferred

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Required Skills
Licenses: ARRT

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 1-2 years experience in a leadership role preferred.
Minimum of 1-3 years experience of radiology technologist required.
Multiple modality registered preferred.

Required Skills
Computer: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Meditech 6.0 strongly preferred.
