The Assistant Program Director Family Medicine must be qualified to manage and direct residents in a graduate medical education program within the residency training requirements of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). At each participating site, there must be a sufficient number of faculty with documented qualifications to instruct and supervise all residents at that location.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Graduate of a College of Osteopathic Medicine and/or graduate of an Allopathic Medical School required
Completion of an Family Medicine Residency Program required


Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Licenses:
Licensed to practice medicine in the state in Virginia required
Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice (AOBFP) required
