The Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator is responsible for the process and completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and quality improvement activities through the coordination of processes of patient/resident assessment tools to meet criteria established by State, Federal, Accrediting and Licensing Agencies. The coordinator assists staff to apply principles of total quality management, coordinating various patient/resident assessment tools, and serving as the liaison for accrediting agencies.

Reports to: ECU Adminstrator

FLSA: Non-exempt

Grade: GX3

Job Requirements

Minimum EducationX High school diploma or equivalent □ Preferred X RequiredBachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
CPR/AED Required from American Heart AssociationFirst Aid Required from American Heart AssociationComputer skills: demonstrated ability to use computers (email, spreadsheets, presentations etc.)Communication skills: excellent verbal, written and intrapersonal communication skills.Geriatric Population: ability to work comfortably with the elderly.
Minimum Work ExperienceRequires 2 year of work experience.Preferably - Experience in a Long Term Care setting.
