Job Description
Starr Regional Medical CenterCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Physician Practice – Full Time – Day Shift –position available.
Core competencies for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
- Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
- Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
- Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program is required.
- Current RMA / CMA / NCMA or CCMA Certification issued by the credentialing body of the AAMA / ARMA is required.
- BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required at the time of hire.
