Job Description

  • Provides oversight and participates in the quality management program in assigned area.
  • Supervises bench testing in the assigned discipline, including oversight of the LIS.
  • Identifies opportunities and conducts training and competency assessment in assigned discipline.
  • Supervises and conducts investigation for issues and failures of instruments and test systems.
  • Ensures an adequate inventory of supplies and reagents to meet the laboratory volumes.
  • Performs bench testing, following and maintaining competency on policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Assists in the human resource management of the department, ensuring adequate staff for laboratory operation.
  • Assists in the financial management of the department.
  • Identifies opportunities for training and conducts and maintains records of competency assessment.
  • Resolves problems and leads quality improvement activities.
  • Assure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Exercises independent judgement in recruiting, training, coaching, supervising and directing assigned staff.
  • Conducts yearly evalutions on assigned staff.
