Georgetown Community Hospital

Under the direct supervision of  Director of  Dietary, is responsible for all preparation of foods for patients and personnel, maintains high standards of quality food production and portion control, and requisitions food and supplies to meet menu requirements.

  1. Prepares or directs preparation of all foods indicated on menus provided for patient and personnel food service, using standardized recipes based on standard portion size.

  2. Sets up hot food line and checks against production sheet to make sure that all items have been prepared.

  3. Serves patient hot food line.

  4. Makes sure all items are dated and put away labeled properly.

  5. Follows menus provided, making changes only with the consent of the manager.

    6.    Requisitions food and supplies for daily needs.

    7.    Participates in the continuous quality improvement process.


Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Current Safe Serve or Food Handler's certification required.

Previous cook experience in a medical setting preferred.
