The Director is accountable to support the CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
This leader will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on unit level. Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel. Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long term goals for the nursing staff. Determine, assign and assess performance objectives for nursing department. Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards.
Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing unit. Lead and develop the nursing staff within the unit, providing performance goals, feedback and development opportunities. Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting. Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel. Chair committees as assigned.
Provide direct care as needed.
Role assumes 24/7 responsibility of Director’s assigned areas.

Required Education:
Associates Degree in Nursing required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
