The IS Senior Database Analyst is responsible for meeting the needs of internal hospital customers by providing a variety of services.  The primary responsibility of this person is data mining.  Data Mining is accomplished by creating SQL reports that retrieve data from the Data Repository or by writing NPR reports which require the use of MAGIC programming to retrieve information from the hospital information system. This person will work closely with all departments to determine what data is needed and the best way to obtain that data. All instances of SQL server are installed, updated, monitored by the IS Senior Database Analyst. .  Another responsibility is to developing scripting programs to automate repetitive functions such as running reports or updating dictionaries as requested by directors and administrators.  Other responsibilities of this person include: assisting the System Integrator with interfaces between diverse systems and the hospital information system, training of hospital personnel in basic NPR report writing and other database software, trouble-shooting software issues and working closely with other IS staff to determine creative information system solutions.


Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Microsoft Certified Subject Expert (MCSE) in Business Intelligence or DataPlatform preferred

Five years of progressive experience in healthcareinformation systems.

Two years’ experience in NPR Report Writing, preferred.
Three years’ experience with SQL Report Writing required.
