Performs technical and clerical functions in one or more sections of the laboratory.
Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
Communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.
Maintains adequate stock of supplies.
Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
Performs clerical duties including answering phones, data entry, and filing.
Performs phlebotomy both on and offsite.
Performs EKG's on patients when required.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent Preferred/Required
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:
Valid driver license Preferred/Required
Certifications:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) Preferred/Required
ASCP or equivalent registry Preferred/Required
Minimum Work Experience
6 months phlebotomy experience Preferred/Required
