Job Summary:

The Manager of Airport Command Center position is responsible for managing, coordinating and participating in the development of policies and procedures for MSP Operations Management. This position facilitates aircraft movement, positioning, gating and U.S. Customs Immigrations. In addition, this position will assist in coordinating load planning and IROP procedures.

  • Accomplish department objectives by managing Airport Command Center staff
  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce policies, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Maintain staff by participating in the recruiting process and training employees
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, annual employee evaluations, rewards, and disciplinary action
  • Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off
  • Develop and implement Airport Command Center procedures
  • Plan for and execute irregular operations (IROP) events
  • Plan and coordinate all MSP gate arrivals and departures
  • Coordinate daily MSP Operation as it applies to aircraft movement and final load planning
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficiencies in the MSP Operation
  • Responsible for ensuring system delay coding is accurate
  • Evaluate operations functions to ensure compliance
  • Any other duties assigned by management



Required Skills

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Previous Airline Management Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
  • Ability to multi-task at a high level
  • Strong customer focus, leadership skills, and attention to detail
  • Possess a valid driver’s license



Preferred Skills

  • Previous management of multiple functions in an airline environment
  • Post-secondary degree
  • Continuous Improvement/Lean/6-Sigma experience/training
  • Greenbelt (or greater) certification

This job operates in an airport terminal. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may become high at various times.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
