Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is looking for a Medical Assistant for their Pediatric Office. This position is responsible for preparing patients for examinations and/or treatment including checking vital signs, assisting doctors during exams, administering injections, and may perform fundamental lab tests on site. Also sets up appointments, performs administrative tasks (data entry, bookkeeping, billing, etc. front and back office), handling patients’ medical records, and filling out insurance forms.

Duties included, but are not limited to the following:

- Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.

- Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.

- Utilizes office computer programs - scheduling, consistent charge entry, and payment entry with accuracy.

- Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

1. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program

2. Certified Medical Assistant required 

3. One (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an office setting preferred

4. Exemplary customer service skills required 

5. Must be an excellent team player

6. Must have a positive attitude toward the public and co-workers and be patient oriented
