Position Summary:The Practice Manager under the supervision of the Market Director plans and directs the operational activities of the practice. They are responsible for the day to day oversight/management of staff to include both clinical and clerical employees. The Practice Manager manages staffing at a level that maximizes efficiency and minimizes overhead expense. He/she is the primary point of contact responsible and accountable for the coordination and communication of information within the practice, other practices, and to administration

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of medical practice operations and methods for efficiency
• Ability to meet clinic and hospital hiring standards
• Strong Communication skills
• Strong understanding of healthcare administration and management
• Familiar with administrative software for healthcare systems
• Knowledge of medical insurance, health records, coding and billing systems
• Knowledgeable about laws and standards of HIPAA, ADA, OSHA and other regulations
• Ability to manage staff in a fair and consistent manner


Position Qualifications:
• Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 5+ years' experience working in multi-specialty practices
• Strong understanding of healthcare administration and management
• Proven experience working in a managerial position in a clinical or medical setting
• Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service with a client focus
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the organization.


Essential Job Functions*:
1. Plan, develop, organize, implement and direct the day-to-day functions of the practice to ensure compliance, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
2. Must understand budgets and is able to work with Practice Director to provide needed data for upcoming budgets. Monitors overtime and expenses to ensure adherence to budgeted expenses
3. Manage performance of subordinate staff; provide counseling and initiate process for disciplinary actions as required
4. Hire and terminate staff, following established HR Policies and always keeping the director informed
5. Ensure practice is appropriately staffed with the appropriate number of well-performing FTEs. Prepare cost justification for any requested additions to staff.
6. Review the practice’s policies and procedures to make recommendations for continued compliance with current regulations
7. Facilitate a smooth integration of new physicians into the practice, working with other departments; coordinate activities related to physician credentialing
8. Analyze practice’s systems and procedures, recommend and implement changes that enhance quality of patient care, increase operational efficiency and support the delivery of care.
9. Coordinate purchasing of supplies and equipment, working within established budgetary guidelines and obtaining appropriate approvals when required.
10. Establish and implement goals for practice and subordinate staff
11. Meet monthly with physicians to review billing and financial data, discuss operational issues, etc.
12. Maintain working knowledge of and assist in coding and charge submission
13. Meet monthly with the staff to ensure open communication and awareness
14. Monitor revenue cycle functions to ensure revenue maximization by ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are in place and followed
15. Serve as a role model for customer service and support staff in this process
16. Investigate and respond to all verbal and written patient complaints.
17. Attend meetings as required
18. All other duties as assigned.
