Provides diagnostic polysomnographic testing and treatment according to established standards and practices and maintains equipment and supplies for the Sleep Laboratory.
Provides non-invasive treatment in conjunction with PSG as ordered by Physician.
Performs standard and complex PSG recordings and scoring as ordered by Physician.
Arranges for treatment through other local homecare suppliers.
Abstracts relevant information from the patient’s clinical record and obtains additional information from the patient or caregiver if necessary.
Follows patients after testing to determine if appropriate understanding of testing results and to answer questions regarding treatment as needed.
Sets up home sleep testing equipment and provides training for patients.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduated from accredited CAAHEP program (Preferred)
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
Minimum Work Experience 1 year in patient care setting (Preferred)
