The ICU Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care.
He/she applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
The Registered Nurse must possess good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, peers, patients and families.
He/She works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure quality care is delivered.
Providing nursing care appropriate to the condition and needs of the patient.
Consulting and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide care to patients.
Establishing, reviewing, revising and following the patient plan of care.
Administering medications and treatments within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
Recording patient care activities including assessment, reassessment, and ongoing treatment notes within the patients medical records.
Using a variety of computer systems.
Operating medical equipment used in the care of the patient.
Providing patient and family education related to treatment, diagnosis, medications, discharge and self-care.
Providing patient care following nursing standards of care in a manner that promotes.
Providing patient care following nursing standards of care in a manner that promotes excellent outcomes, avoids harm to patients and promotes health and healing.

Minimum Education
ActiveTennessee RN license or Compact State RN license with the intent to obtain aTennessee RN license within 30 days of hire.

Certifications
BasicLife Support (BLS)/CPR
ACLScurrent or within 1 year of hire
PALScurrent or within 1 year of hire
Completionof a Basic Arrhythmia Class within in 1 year of hire
Licenses
Currentactive RN license in the State of Tennessee.
