Job Description
HighPoint - Livingston Regional HospitalPerforms plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, assessments, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Provides opportunity for neonate’s integration into the family unit. Provides emotional support and maintains a protective environment. Assesses for bonding problems and intervenes appropriately. Demonstrates knowledge of breast feeding and infant feeding.
Conducts Fetal Monitoring internal and external, documentation, interpretation and recognition of abnormal findings.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Must complete all education assigned and required for the position, including classroom and on-line courses.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education: Graduate of a Program in Discipline - RN Required
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association - Required upon start of position
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- American Heart Association - Preferred
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6 months from start of position
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring within 6 months from start of position
Licenses: Registered Nurse licensed in state of Tennessee or compact state.
Minimum Work Experience: Previous experience preferred
