Congratulations on your graduation from nursing school! We welcome you to apply for our New Graduate Nurse Residency Program! This exciting program will assist you in a successful transition from the classroom to the bedside. Research indicates that offering new graduate nurses support and educational opportunities helps ensure a smooth transition to their professional career. It also increases retention of nurses thus creating an environment of engaged care for patients. Our program incorporates evidence-based, clinical and didactic learning experiences spread throughout your orientation period. We look forward to an exciting and meaningful experience with you and hope that the program is the first of many greatly successful endeavors in your nursing career.

The residency program has sessions every week for the first six weeks, then every other week for the next 6 weeks. Topics for each session vary but include information that is vital to your success in transitioning from the classroom to the bedside. The sessions present experts in the field who provide you, the Resident, with the latest evidence-based practices.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

Associate’s Degree in Nursing required

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license).
