Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.   Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.  Documents patient care given.  Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.  Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs


 Basic Life Support (BLS) and  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be current upon hire.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.

Newly graduated RNs must have current BLS upon hire, must obtain ACLS and PALS/ENPC within six months from hire.New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications. Notwithstanding this ‘grace period’ for obtaining American Heart Association certifications, employees are not excused from being current in any and all existing certifications that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description. Licenses: Current NM licensure or appropriate RN Compact licensure

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:

 Associate’s degree required

Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


Must have current BLS upon hire.  Must obtain NRP within ninety (90) days from hire. New hire are required to obtain AWHONN, STABLE and ACLS within six (6) months from hire.

Must have current NM RN licensure or appropriate compact licensure
