Our Orthopedic surgery services include diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. Having an injury such as a torn rotator cuff or a fractured hip can cause a lot of downtime from a person’s daily routine, but being able to receive treatment from start to finish at one location, close to home, can help make the process more convenient. SRMC has orthopedic surgery specialists on staff specializing in problems of the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, spine, foot and ankle. Sumner Regional Medical Center is committed to providing a full range of orthopedic surgery services, including total joint replacement surgery.

The Med/Surg Orthopedic Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in Medical Surgical Orthopedics

Reports to: Director Med/Surg Orthopedics

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in Nursing or RN Diploma - Required
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing - Preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer proficiency required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association) - Required to be current upon hire
Licenses: State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure – Required
