The Certified Athletic Trainer-Orthopedic Office Medical Scribe recognizes, manages and rehabilitates injuries to professional, amateur and recreational athletes. Provides techniques for prevention of injuries and instructs/trains on safe exercise techniques. Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary. Maintains a medical file on each athlete and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete. The Certified Athletic Trainer will provide 'Athletic Training Services' to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state of VA athletic training practice act.
Additional responsibilities: 20-25hours weekly in an orthopedic clinic as a Medical Scribe. The Medical Scribe helps to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician by accompanying them into the patient room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam and document accurately the physicians encounter with the patient and others present.
Minimum Education
□ Bachelor’s degree Required in a health related field from an accredited college or university.from a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program
