Job Description

Rackspace is hiring a Senior Azure Solution Architect for a multi-year enterprise project. The nature of this project is a large-scale migration to Azure with an enterprise client in the Dallas or Seattle area. The Team Lead will be the SPOC for all Rackspace resources assigned to this project and the first point of escalation for the customer. 

This person will be a full-time employee and eligible for Rackspace benefits on their first day of employment. 

Required Skills and Experience 

  • 15+ years of industry experience in technical engineering/architecture and/or pre or post sales engineering/architecture.
  • 10+ years’ experience acting as a Solution Architect for Cloud and Data Center migration projects with an expertise in Azure.  
  • In-depth understanding of computing, storage, and network components including backup, monitoring, and DR environment requirements.  
  • Experience and understanding of large-scale applications portfolio in enterprise environments (including migration of on-premise workloads to the cloud). 
  • Deep domain expertise with the following: 
    • Cloud application development solutions (e.g. IaaS, Serverless, API Management) 
    • Container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry) 
    • Continuous integration technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure for DevOps, Chef, Puppet) 
    • Web application server technologies, cloud application design, software architecture, and practices (design/development/deployment, Agile, SCRUM, ALM) 
  • Experience in and understanding of large-scale application development projects (including key coding skills and practices) required.  
  • Breadth of technical experience and aptitude to learn and adjust to new technologies and cloud trends required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.   
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications are preferred.
