Job Description

Position Summary

Provides administrative and/or clerical support to ED Director/Manager. Provides EMR support to Staff. Assist department in day-to-day operations. Assists in smooth patient flow throughout the Emergency Department as needed. Works on special projects as needed/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivelant
  • Minimum two years administrative experience; medical field experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification within three months of hire and maintain as current
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training completed with in three months of hire and maintain as current.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources including inventory and supplies
  • Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and timelines
  • Facilitates the smooth flow of patients through the department from admission to discharge
  • Assumes responsibility for meeting annual in-service requirements and ongoing personal development
  • Suports and trains staff on EMR software; assists with ED charges and edits as needed

  • Demonstrate sound judgment, patience and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Electronic medical records software
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Creativity, problem analysis and decision making
  • Ability to work varied shifts
