Job Description

Responsible for leading and guiding the development and operations of finance/property accounting, and Total Service for the opening of Horseshoe Baltimore.  The VP of Finance will also work in partnership with the GM and AGM to ensure the project is delivered within budget.  The VP of Finance will be responsible for directing all financial activity for Horseshoe Baltimore; this includes the development of operating and business plans, and the implementation of Caesars accounting policies and practices used to prepare accurate financial reporting and reports to lenders.   Takes a primary role in managing the property within overall company cost control objectives.  The VP of Finance will collaborate closely with the CFO of CBAC Gaming, LLC, to ensure the accuracy of the financial reporting of the property and to meet all lender reporting obligations, as well as with the shared service accounting organization at Caesars, to ensure the accuracy of the accounting records for the property.  Also, the VP will work closely with the Corporate Controller’s office in assessing the proper accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions involving the property.   Works with the GM and Property Leadership team to ensure strict compliance with the State (adherence to the MLGCA’s regulatory rules and the Gaming Act), the Property’s internal controls, the Company’s internal audit practices, and the Company’s Compliance program. In addition to the Finance function, the VP of Finance will have oversight of IT, Total Service, and warehouse functions post-opening.

Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team; Responsible for selecting, training, evaluation, and supervision of overall casino finance & accounting functions.  Acts as the decision maker for the property in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.  Manages all employees in Finance, Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Continuous Improvement, Compliance, Cage,  and Total Service.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.  Directs the forecasting and preparation of casino accounting reports, budgets, etc., in a timely manner.  Knowledge of the Casino Control Act and attendant regulations as well as internal controls, policies, and procedures. Support and maintain courtesy guidelines, Promote outstanding guest relations. Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in accounting or business, MBA or CPA preferred; And Minimum of five years of experience in financial or business operations with appropriate supervisory experience in casino accounting procedures preferred; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•        Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations required. 
•        Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
•        Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
•        Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
•        Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
