Bolivar Medical Center
As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinical setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Job Requirements

Required Skills
Must have an updated American Heart Association approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If employee does not have a current BLS at time of hire or transfer, then employee will have one month from day of hire, or transfer, to obtain, or update, BLS certification

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Licenses
[Mississippi, United States] Licensed Practical Nurses
Must have current Mississippi licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN) or a current Compact State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN)

Language Skills:

  1. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
