JOB PURPOSE
The IR/Cath Lab Technologist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other clinical disciplines in providing care to patients undergoing procedures in the IR/Cardiac Cath Lab. Competently operates radiologic equipment including ability to trouble shoot in order to solve equipment related problems. Provides assistance to physicians performing IR/Cath Lab procedures. Operates hemodynamic monitoring computer during procedures. Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Assists the R.N. in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the IR/Cath Lab patient. Coordinates and organizes supplies, equipment and instruments needed for Cath Lab procedures.

Job Requirements

  1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe level of knowledge skills and experience needed by a new employee to successfully perform the requirements of the job.  The statements in this section should be supported by the major responsibilities of the job.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT.
  • Must be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the state of West Virginia.
  • Advanced levels of certification in cardiovascular and invasive specialties (i.e. RCIS, CI, VI, BLS, ACLS) preferred. If not certified upon hire, must become certified within appropriate time frame.
  • EXPERIENCE IN CATH OR IR PREFERRED.
