Job Description:
  1. The Nurse Aide I, under the supervision and/or direction of a registered Nurse, performs routine duties in caring for hospitalized patients.
  2. Performs and exhibits sound judgment and technical skills for NAI in nursing treatments and procedures as assigned.
  3. Insures comfort and safety of patient at all times, observing and reporting to nurse pertinent observations about patient conditions as appropriate.

OUR ACUTE CARE UNITS

Critical Care Units (CCU) Frye’s three intensive care units are made up of 8 beds each for a total of 24 beds. Specialized nursing staff provide care for critically ill patients and their families using a holistic, integrated team approach.

Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Frye’s IMCU consists of 13 beds and is an ICU step down unit. The Intermediate nursing team cares for a variety of monitored patients including those with cardiac and neurological conditions, providing valuable experience for a future in critical care nursing if desired. The American Heart Association has awarded Frye the Get with the Guidelines Gold plus Heart Failure Award and the Gold Stroke Award. If you prefer a smaller unit with complex cases and exceptional teamwork, Intermediate may be the unit for you.

Neuro-Progressive Care Unit - (NPCU) Frye was one of the area’s first Primary Stroke Centers accredited by The Joint Commission since 2008. The NPCU is Frye’s designated Stroke Unit and has 18 beds. Frye has partnered with Wake Forest Baptist Hospital’s Telestroke program to ensure our patients have access to neurologists 24/7. The stroke program was a recipient of The American Heart Association, Get with the Guidelines Gold Stroke Award for 2016. Our Stroke Team nurses take an active part in our stroke program through application of best practice and education.

NEON- Our Nephrology Oncology Unit is made up of 17 beds. The NEON nursing team uses a holistic approach in caring for patients and families. Frye is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a comprehensive cancer center and has received the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Our team is dedicated to improving care and providing patients a full spectrum of services and treatments to better meet their needs.

SIGN ON BONUS QUALIFIER INFORMATION:

* CNAI/II must have 1 year of working experience as a CNAI/CNAII

* Must be filling a Full Time Acute/Bedside position

* Must fulfill a TWO-YEAR (full time status) commitment to Frye Hospital

* $1,200 paid as: $300 with first paycheck after 90 days of successful employment; $300 upon completion of one year of employment and the final $600 upon completion of 2 years of employment.

Job Requirements

  • Current licensure with the Division of facility Services in the State of North Carolina. (CNAI) 
  • Current CPR certification with AHA 
  • Graduate of accredited NAI program
  • Prefer one year of medical surgical acute care experience
