Job Description

Under general supervision, the Server provides efficient, timely, and courteous food and beverage service to internal and external guests while providing informative responses to questions to enhance the overall experience during their stay.

  • Greets guests, seats them comfortably and take their food and beverage orders, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitors and maintains cleanliness and organization of tables, service areas, and the restaurant itself.
  • Completes assigned opening side duties; completes assigned closing side duties and check out with manager/supervisor daily prior to departure.
  • Presents guest checks and processes payment with the Cashier (where applicable).
  • Adheres to payment, cash handling, and credit card procedures.
  • Writes off (comps) food/beverages as needed within company guidelines; obtains authorized signatures on all checks.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and strictly abides by all state food and sanitation laws as well as liquor laws regulations (where applicable), particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons.
  • Discusses any problems encountered with the direct supervisor, and follows instructions given.
  • Attends all pre-shift meetings, as well as all other mandatory meetings, to maintain knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and guest relations.
  • Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of experience in the culinary field required.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.
  • Health Card – must be state/county-specific.
  • Food Handler’s Card – must be state/county-specific.
  • Alcohol Awareness Training Certification – must be state/county specific.
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices.  Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.

  • Basic math skills to include weights and measures.
  • Cash handling skills (the ability to count currency, make and count back change).
