Rutherford Regional Health System

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function. Provides treatment according to a plan of care and in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Essential Functions: Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks
consultation as necessary.

Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist. Documents services provided and patient response/progress.

Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Adheres to policies and procedures.
Maintains patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
 Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (APTA) required.
Required Skills
 Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Interpersonal and communication skills to enhance patient relations.

 Certifications:

BLS required

 Licenses: Current Physical Therapy Assistant license to practice in NC.

Minimum Work Experience
1-3 years PTA experience preferred.
